More ingredients do not automatically make a better formulation. More actives do not necessarily mean better results. And a trending ingredient does not belong in a product simply because it is popular.
Our approach is simpler:
Understand the skin. Choose ingredients purposefully. Formulate with intention.
Every ingredient should have a reason for being there.
A formulation is more than its hero ingredient.
We consider the role each ingredient plays within the complete product from functional actives and botanical oils to humectants, emollients, emulsifiers and preservation systems.
What matters is not simply what appears on the ingredient list, but how the formulation works as a whole.
Nature and science belong together.
Africa has an extraordinary botanical heritage, and ingredients such as marula, baobab, Kalahari melon, mafura and shea butters form an important part of the NNB story.
We complement these with carefully selected botanicals and evidence-led skincare ingredients from around the world.
We do not believe that “natural” automatically means better, nor that science and nature sit on opposite sides of skincare.
Nature provides remarkable chemistry. Science helps us understand how to formulate with it.
